Dear Grade 3 Parents,

Each year We give, the parents, a homework assignment.  Not only does this make your child very happy but it also lets you know that We want to work as a team to make your child’s year a successful one.

The Assignment is as follows:

This year you have sent us your most valued possession – your child.  I would like you to help us to get to know them better.  Please take a moment to write me a letter about your child.

What do they like to do?  What is their favourite book?  Did they have any special experiences this summer?  Do they have any special needs?  Anything you think we should know about them.  Also, in your note, please share your hopes for this school year.  What do you hope your child’s experience will be?  What is your child like as a learner?  What experiences have they had in school so far?

Thank you for taking the time to help us get to know your child.  We look forward to working with you this year.  Please be sure to send the letter and a family photo back to us by Friday.
